My Joint Venture Journey So Far

Aside from a couple of buy-and-hold properties my husband and I purchased early on, every property project I’ve completed to date has involved some form of joint venture.

When I first became a full-time property investor, I had built up a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge through investing courses, owning rental properties, and attending countless networking events. But despite that, I lacked hands-on experience, and the idea of tackling a project alone felt overwhelming. So when a good friend—also a local property investor—invited me to partner on her project, I jumped at the opportunity.

At the time, we had borrowing capacity, and I secured some additional funds through family support. Together, we purchased an unfinished house, completed the build, and managed the sale. The project was a success, delivering a strong profit for both of us—and it gave me the confidence to keep going.

Since then, I’ve completed a number of joint venture projects, including renovations and renovate-and-subdivide deals.
